About Us

Founded in 2010 as a safe and nurturing place for children in Bracknell and the surrounding area to learn and enjoy one of the countries fastest growing sports.

Super proud of our very talented, Coach Alex Halmkan, who has won Club Coach of the Year 2024 at the recent Basketball England South Region Awards. 👏👏

Alex is a dedicated & inspiring coach! He coaches players from 6-18 years old in both CVL & NL sessions, after school clubs, GHC Academy team and Saturday morning SEN sessions. He is also a coach in the South Aspire talent programme.

His players all value his coaching and support, as he spends a long time working out the best pathways for his player to develop, putting them forward to additional sessions and providing extra match opportunities.

Alex will be Head Coach for NL U18 Men, U16 Men and Head Coach for the Cobras Basketball Academy at Garth Hill College Sixth Form for the upcoming 2025 season.

We’re excited to welcome Coach Dan Lloyd to the Cobras coaching team! Originally from the U.S., Dan brings decades of experience as both a player and coach—having played professionally in England, earned 55 caps for England & GB, and coached at national and international levels, including GB at the World University Games.

Most recently, he spent time with the Reading Rockets men’s team and their Division 3 side. We’re thrilled to have his knowledge and leadership on board!

WHAT A SEASON! Our U14 Girls have won their league in a dramatic finish, claiming the title on points difference! 🏆🔥 Every game was hard-fought, and the girls gave it everything they had. Their hard work, determination, and teamwork were truly inspiring! 💪💙

Tears, Joy, Laughter, Training sessions in the rain (which they all loved!) - this season had it all, and through it all, the girls stuck together and delivered!

Big thanks to Coach Michaela and Assistant Coach Lucy for leading the girls through the final stretch. Michaela’s incredible experience has been invaluable in providing the guidance and drive to help the team continue their progress, and finish on such a high!
